Description

The meanings and/or colors of the plants in my pictures inspire their names, so I thought I'd let you in on the secret. I love knowing the meanings behind plants... but some can be a little hard to find. So I have to kinda come up with some on my own. :)
Spirea (the little white flowers) is a native plant of Japan. So, I looked up the meaning of colors in Japanese culture. The color white can mean several things, but is regarded most as a sacred and pure color. As such, it was often associated with angels and gods. It can also represent reverence, simplicity, humility, and youth.
The Cedar tree is alluded to many times in the Bible, as well ancient Roman culture, as a symbol of wisdom; because of its roots' ability to drive deep into the ground and tap water sources other trees wouldn't be able to reach. Cedar was used to build the Jewish Ark of the Covenant and to build statues of gods in other religions, such as those in India and Ancient Sumeria. It is also seen as a symbol of incorruptibility, healing, protection, and strength.

Only editing I made to this picture was overlay it with a watercolor filter in Photoshop CS5 and a border in PhotoScape.

*edit: Re-upped with watermark. Forgot to the first time.
